Kinesis — Motion

Greek: κίνησις (kī́nēsis), "movement"
  • In physics, kinesis is movement in response to a stimulus — action, not intention
  • We think of intelligence the same way: it isn't worth much sitting still
  • An agent that reasons but never acts is just a very articulate observer
  • Value only shows up once something actually moves — a ticket closes, a form gets filled, a call gets answered

  • Anyone can demo a clever agent once — systems are what make it run on day 500
  • Monitoring, exception handling, access control, and maintenance aren't afterthoughts, they're the job
